Description

Fridge Magnets of 8 different local images. These images are taken of places of interest from around Corwen and the Dee Valley. Being an archaeology group the places of interest have specific archaeological significance. Llangar Church is a hidden gem, dating from the late 11th century, with original painted murals in the care of CADW. Plas Newydd is a house made famous by the “ladies of Llangollen” and is Geogian but on a medieval footprint and is managed by Denbighshire County Council. Cwm Pennant, Llandrillo is a Neolithic landscape containing many cairn burials and other ancient monuments. Maen Y Bardd is a burial site, a well known Dolmen, up above the Conway  Valley, near Rowen. Moel Ty Uchaf, a neolithic cairn circle with far-reaching spectacular views of the Dee Valley. Caer drewyn is n Iron Age Hill fort which dominates the Vale of Edeirnion – reputably built by the British queen, Corwenna.
