Tuesday 7pm at Carrog Village Hall on 13th May- an illustrated talk by Katie Gilliland, who is the outreach and Community Engagment Officer of The North East Wales Archives.
The Denbighshire and Flint archives are joining together and will be housed in Mold, adjacent to Theatre Clwyd, with far more efficient facilities for storing and preserving the existing archives that are mostly held in Ruthin Old Goal and Harden. The new state of the art purpose designed and built building will offer many greater opportunities for conservation, preservation and access to the archives. This will impact on the artifacts as well as the historic regionally held documents for North East Wales and go a long way to preserve and promote our culture and heritage. Katie will be telling us about the grants and funding plus what, how and when this project will be completed. She also wants the feedback from locally interested groups and individuals for what we, the community and interested parties, would like from the public access to this wealth of history and culture.
So come and listen and see what is planned and how we can have some engagement with this wonderful new facility and resource. Katie will also give us an insite into archiving materials and the value of research plus modern technology to preserve, save and share this cache of material.
