Dating fron the early 13th century, this delightful little church, dedicated to St Mary, is in the care of the very worthy Friends of Friendless Churches organisation. It’s not the first time it has been ‘rescued’ so to speak as in 1875 it was heavily re-ordered by the noted church architect Henry Edward Kennedy no less.
Inside there is a fine example of a 15th century rood screen and rood loft, along with stained glass windows dating from 1869.

Whilst St Mary’s is a good example of a small Welsh parish church, it is somewhat overshadowed by the impressive Medieval preaching cross which stands just a few yards from the main door. Dating from the 15th century it displays scenes from the crucifixion along with other related carvings. CJ
